As part of my MA Design Management program, I collaborated on a creative initiative with UNESCO’s Ocean Decade campaign. Our mission: reframe ocean conservation by turning complex science into emotional connection. We developed Ocean Voices—a gamified interactive experience that humanizes deep sea creatures and makes ocean science relatable and engaging.
Creative Strategy
“Make the ocean a friend, not a concept.”
Tackled communication barriers by replacing dense scientific content with gamified storytelling.
Designed to provoke emotional connection and spark a new wave of environmental empathy.
Campaign Elements
Sea Creature City Hunt – Urban-based scavenger hunt introducing sea creatures in unexpected public spaces.
Creature Chatroom – An imaginative AR-powered interface where users “chat” with marine species and learn fun facts.
Reward System – Digital badges and knowledge-based incentives that encourage continued exploration and advocacy.
Ocean Voices challenged the conventional narratives around marine conservation—shifting perception from abstract data to personal relevance. The project demonstrated the power of creative communication in fostering sustainable behavior and reimagining how we teach science.
